Sharjah University Majors Exhibition to help students connect strengths with future study choices

Sharjah University Exhibition

Eighth edition brings 23 universities, skills assessments and 36 sessions to Sharjah from September 21-29

Students and parents will have an opportunity to explore university majors, meet academic institutions and assess their skills at the eighth University Majors Exhibition, organized by Sharjah Public Libraries (SPL).

Held under the theme “Path to the Future,” the exhibition will run from September 21 to 29 at Sharjah Book Authority headquarters. The program will include the interactive “Miqyas” assessment, which is designed to help students identify academic majors and career options that align with their skills and interests.

The exhibition will also feature 36 sessions and workshops covering academic choices, scholarships, future skills and employment.

Students and parents can meet representatives from universities, colleges and academic institutions to discuss programs, admission requirements, scholarships, tuition fees, accreditation and university life.

Helping students identify their strengths

“Miqyas” is a new feature of this year’s exhibition. The interactive assessment evaluates skills including creativity, adaptability, critical thinking and interpersonal skills, as well as skills relevant to prospective majors such as scientific research, academic writing, communication and the use of artificial intelligence tools.

Based on students’ responses, the assessment suggests academic majors and career options aligned with their interests and ambitions.

The exhibition’s 36 sessions and workshops will be divided between two tracks, “Future Dialogues” and “Pulse of the Major.”

“Future Dialogues,” inspired by the Human Library concept, will use real-life experiences to explore professional excellence, future workplace skills, scholarships, leadership and academic success.

“Pulse of the Major” will focus on questions students face before entering university, including choosing a major, scholarships and the future of jobs in the age of artificial intelligence. The program will also include English-language sessions on admission and scholarship interviews, success and post-school skills.
