Emirati student selected for inaugural Global Youth Council Fellowship
Moza Ahmed, chairperson of Dubai’s first Students Council, has been selected for the inaugural Global Youth Council Fellowship, an international youth leadership program.
Moza, a Grade 12 student at the American School of Creative Science in Nad Al Sheba, leads the Dubai Students Council, which the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) launched under its City of Students initiative, part of Dubai’s Education 33 strategy.
The year-long fellowship is open to students aged 16 to 18. It focuses on leadership and communication and offers mentoring and a place at a global summit.
Moza was selected for the Global Youth Council Fellowship after a highly competitive admissions process. Organizers described her as intellectually curious and driven by conviction, with the potential to make a meaningful contribution to the world around her.
The young students said, representing nearly 400,000 students had shown her the diversity of voices, perspectives, and aspirations in Dubai’s student community. She said the fellowship is a chance to share Dubai’s experience with students from other countries.
“I will carry the spirit of ‘Dubai-It’ to an international platform,” she said.
Sarah Hollis, principal of the American School of Creative Science, said Moza would be an outstanding ambassador for Emirati students.
