Dubai Esports & Games Festival 2026 Expands With New Education Summit and Extended Citywide Events
DEF 2026 will run from 22 May to 7 June, bringing gaming, esports and digital learning opportunities to students, families and creators across Dubai.
Dubai Esports & Games Festival 2026 is set to return with an expanded programme this year, running from 22 May to 7 June and promising a larger citywide celebration of gaming, esports and digital creativity.
Organised by Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment, part of the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, the festival will feature a wider range of activities aimed at gamers, students, creators and families.
One of the major additions this year is the launch of the inaugural Education & Gaming Summit on 4 June. The summit will bring together high-school students, universities and gaming industry leaders to explore academic pathways and career opportunities within the rapidly growing gaming sector.

The new summit reflects the increasing intersection between education and digital industries, with gaming now influencing fields such as technology, design, storytelling, coding and content creation. Registration for the summit is now open through DEF Education Summit.
Meanwhile, the festival’s flagship attraction, GameExpo 2026, will take place from 5 to 7 June, offering esports tournaments, interactive zones and immersive gaming experiences. Organisers have also announced free parking for up to six hours for all GameExpo visitors to improve accessibility for attendees.
This year’s programme will introduce several new experiences, including Neo Tokyo District for anime enthusiasts, Battle Arena’s maze-style gaming challenges and Velocity Garage’s racing simulation experiences. Returning fan favourites include Play Beyond and the Dubai Cosplay Championship.

According to Ahmed Al Khaja, the extended dates are designed to make the festival more accessible to residents and visitors during the holiday period while expanding participation across Dubai’s growing gaming community.
Aligned with the UAE’s Year of the Family initiative, DEF 2026 will place greater focus on youth engagement and family participation through shared interactive experiences.
Early-bird tickets for GameExpo are currently available from AED 10 through www.dubaiesportsfestival.com
