Brighton College Al Ain appoints Sarah Weaver as new Head Mistress
Brighton College Al Ain has appointed Sarah Weaver as its new Head Mistress, effective from August 2026.
Mrs Weaver brings more than 20 years of educational leadership experience to the role, including over 13 years in the UAE. She joins the school from Artemis Education, where she serves as Director of Schools, overseeing a portfolio of schools across the Middle East and the UK.
Before joining Artemis Education, Mrs Weaver was Principal of Mamoura British Academy in Abu Dhabi, where she led the school’s improvement programme and achieved an ‘Outstanding’ rating from British Schools Overseas (BSO).
Commenting on her appointment, Mrs Weaver said she was delighted to join Brighton College Al Ain and looked forward to working with pupils, staff and families to build on the school’s strong reputation while creating learning experiences that help every child realise their full potential.
Craig Lamshed, General Manager of Brighton Colleges UAE, said Mrs Weaver’s extensive leadership experience, understanding of the UAE education sector and commitment to values-led education make her well placed to lead the school into its next phase of growth.
Brighton College Al Ain has held an ‘Outstanding’ rating from the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge since 2016 and remains the only school in Al Ain to have consistently retained the distinction. The school has also been recognised as British International School of the Year at the Independent Schools of the Year Awards for its academic standards, pastoral care and community engagement.
The British curriculum school educates pupils aged three to 18 and combines a UK-style education with an emphasis on local culture and heritage. Operated by Bloom Education, the college offers a broad programme of academic, sporting, artistic and co-curricular opportunities.
Mrs Weaver will officially assume her new role ahead of the start of the 2026/27 academic year in August.
